Hancock Health Paid $55,000 to Hackers Despite Having Backups

Earlier this week, it was reported that Hancock Health Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana was struck by ransomware late last week. Today, Hancock Health CEO, Steve Long, stated that while backups were available, it could have taken “days, maybe even weeks,” to get back to full operation again. It was decided that they would pay the $55,000 ransom (4 bitcoin) instead of wait for the restoration process to be completed.

reevert was specifically designed with restoration time in mind. With reevert, restoring backups takes only a few minutes - no matter the amount of data. Instead of letting the attackers hold you in a vulnerable position, protect your backups with reevert. Click here to get your 30 day free trial.
