Atlanta is the latest ransomware victim during a broad-scale attack, targeting computers networks all across the city.
It was said to have affected various internal and external customer facing applications, ranging anywhere from court systems to payments. It is said that a ransom of $51,000 is being demanded to unlock all affected systems.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms stated that they were working with Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Microsoft and Cisco systems to resolve this issue.
